1980's

1981

• Yours Truly Beachwood opens on January 16 on Chagrin Boulevard in Beachwood, Ohio.

• Fresh squeezed orange juice added to the menu.

• Yours Truly introduces its first employee benefit - complimentary meals to all employees.

1982

• On December 10, YT Chagrin Falls opens on North Main Street in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

• First annual Employee Appreciation party is held.

1983  Top

• Time Out Grille, a YT carryout location, opens in Chagrin Falls.

• Introduced 20 years of Braille menus.

1984  Top

• Began offering paid vacations and health insurance.

1985  Top

• YT Hudson opens on South Main Street (Route 91) in Hudson, Ohio..

1986  Top

• YT Medley added to the menu.

1988  Top

• Yours Truly expands to four locations with the opening of YT Mayfield Village!

• Yours Truly begins sponsorship of Athlete of the Week in Hudson Hub Times.

1989  Top

• Updated seating at all locations.

• Held New Year's Day fundraiser brunch at YT Mayfield Village to raise money to complete construction of the Village's gazebo. 

1990's

• Shibley Management formed.

• Cruise Night begins at YT Mayfield Village.

1991  Top

• Circulation of The Register, an employee/guest newsletter begins. 

1992  Top

• YT Board of Directors formed.

• YT Beachwood remodeled.

• YT Beachwood goes smoke-free.

1993  Top

• Yours Truly Shaker Square opens.

• Notso Fries debut.

• Killit Skillet is a hit in Shaker Square and becomes newest addition to menu.

• YT Community Scholarship is introduced and continues through 2000.

• Patio added to YT Hudson.

• Coffee is upgraded.  Flavored coffee, espresso and cappuccino drinks are introduced.

• Yours Truly completes a nutritional analysis of its menu, in partnership with Chavanne Hanson, Director of University Hospital's Synergy program.

1994  Top

• The Shibley family becomes the only family inducted into the Orange High School Hall of Fame

• Began 8-year sponsorship of Hunger Network holiday event.

1995  Top

• Monday Kids Night begin in newly-remodeled YT Hudson.

1996  Top

• Training Committee introduced to ensure consistency at each location.

• The Register is featured in February issue of Nations Business Magazine.

• Time Out Grille renamed Parkside Grill

• Freshly squeezed limeade is added to the menu.

• YT Mentor the first YT built from the ground up opens on October 20 on Center Street in Mentor, Ohio!

• www.ytr.com makes its debut.

• Training committee launches Coaches Program.

• YT Chagrin Falls is remodeled.

• Yours Truly logo and term Notso trademarked.

• Parkside Grill sold to former YT employee, Abdu Aitelkadi.

• YT Medina opens on December 21 on Medina Road (Route 18) in Medina, Ohio. 

• YT Shaker Square featured on Food Network's Food Finds show.

• On line option to purchase gift certificates becomes available.

• Television installed at YT Chagrin Falls.

• YT introduces sandwich wraps.

2003  Top

• YT Scholarship Program is revised.

• YT Medina and Mayfield Village add beer and wine to the menu. 

• Dixie Singer promoted to Chief Operating Officer. 

• Wi-Fi added to YT Mentor and Chagrin Falls.  

• YT Shaker Square featured on TLC Channel's "A Makeover Story." 

• Expansion completed at YT Chagrin Falls.

• YT gift baskets become available.

• Monthly YT e-mail letter adds thousands of guests to distribution list.

2004  Top

• Wi-Fi added to all YT locations.

• Monday Nights Kids Night begins at YT Mentor and continues at YT Hudson.

• Upgraded carryout packaging is introduced.

• "Car Scene on 18" kicked off at YT Medina.

• Sunday hours extended to 10 p.m. throughout the summer.

• CNBC visits YT Hudson in July for a pre-presidential election news story.

• YT Shaker Square goes non-smoking!

• Yours Truly becomes a Cleveland Originals founding member.

• In conjunction with DeliverMeFood.com, YT begins offering food delivery from all YT locations except Medina and Hudson.  Gourmet Express services guests in the Chagrin Falls area.

2005  Top

• Monday Kids Night introduced at YT Medina.

• YT Partner Art Shibley, General Manager George Healy, Manager Hugh Cassidy and Server Nate Miller showed off their knowledge of trivia on WMJI's morning show.

• YT Chagrin Falls goes smoke-free in February.  Months later, Mayfield Village goes smoke-free as well.

• In a joint effort, YT and several other Cleveland Originals restaurants donated a day's profits to the Tsunami Relief fund. 

• In March, YT Partner Art Shibley could be seen cooking on WVIZ/PBS ideastream when the educational television station highlighted Northeast Ohios best chefs and premiere restaurants in the latest installment of the popular, locally produced cooking series WVIZ/PBS Cooks.

• On April 15, President Bush visited YT Mentor during his 60 city tour to promote social security reform.  He met with a group of small business owners to mark "Tax Day" and greeted all the guests in the restaurant.

2006  Top

• YT Partner Jeff Shibley and COO Dixie Singer handed Lanigan and Malone their first trivia loss of the year on WMJI's morning show.

• YT Partner Art Shibley showed off his cooking talents on Channel 5 news program, Live on 5

• YT Shaker Square featured on CNN evening show, Lou Dobbs Tonight.  Producers interviewed YT guests for their reactions to President Bush's State of the Union address

• In May, employees from YT Mentor, Mayfield Village and Medina participated in the American Heart Association's Lake and Medina County Heart Walks.

2007 Top

• YT Mentor helped raise over $8,000 for the Mentor Police Canine Fund.

• In March, Yours Truly announced plans to open its eighth restaurant.  The  Rockside Road location opened in Fall  2007.

• In February, COO Dixie Singer and YT Partner Art Shibley won the trivia contest - again! - when they appeared on WMJI's morning show.

• In April and May, all Yours Truly Restaurants collected new and used baseball equipment for Cleveland Baseball Foundation.

• YT Rockside opened on September 19.

• Larry Shibley appeared on Channel 3 News on November 5 to discuss quality ground beef.

• Art Shibley showed off his culinary skills on Robin Swoboda's daytime show "That's Life" on Fox 8 Cleveland.

• In November, Jeffrey Shibley addressed students at John Carroll University on the topic of "Entrepreneurship."

• Yours Truly hosted a Pancake Breakfast on Thanksgiving Morning that brought in more than $9,000 for the Mentor Schools Foundation.

• YT breakfast food was showcased on Fox 8 News in the morning on November 26. 

2008 Top

• Channel 3 News Anchor Ramona Robinson followed Rockside Server Krystal Smith for a day for a news series on underappreciated jobs on December 12, 2007.  The segment aired on February 1.

• Added Happy Hours in Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Hudson, Medina, Mentor, Mayfield Village and Rockside.

• YT featured on Channel 3 morning show in January.

• Official restaurant of the 2010 Cleveland Liver Life Walk.

• Introduced Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast at YT Rockside to benefit Cornerstone of Hope.

• Beachwood Mayor came to YT Beachwood on February 3 for a "Meet & Greet."

• YT Chagrin Falls participated in "Mindful Mondays" to support the Greater Cleveland and Geauga County Food Banks.

• Instituted Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast at YT Chagrin Falls.

• Sponsored Independence Schools Race for Education in April.

• Sponsored Run/Walk for Stronger Bones in May.

2011

• Introduced new menu in June.

• Added "deluxing" as a menu option.
