Mike Simon joined Yours Truly as a manager in 1999 and worked at four Yours Truly locations over the years.  Throughout his career, he worked in management for a number of other restaurants, including Smokey Bones Barbeque and Chi-Chi’s.

Mike says Yours Truly offers him a great work environment.  “It’s the best company I’ve ever worked for.  They go out of their way to enable me to spend more time with my kids.  It’s a great balance,” says Mike, father of three.

At Yours Truly, Mike is admired for his unwavering commitment to get the job done right.  YT Partner Jeffrey Shibley says, “He understands all aspects of the business.  He has an incredibly strong work ethic.”

As Ashtabula native, Mike recently converted from a Giants fan to a Browns supporter.  His favorite sporting events are spent with his kids.  “We love to play baseball together.  I tell them I have my own little baseball team,” says Mike.

Mike attended Youngstown State University and has plans to take classes to complete a business degree at a college in northeast Ohio.

Michael Dehner

Willowick resident Michael Dehner has worked in restaurants his since he was old enough to get a job.  He began as a dishwasher at Potpourri Fondue Restaurant in his hometown Mentor, then took a job as a line cook at John Palmer’s in Chardon, where he studied with a Culinary Institute of America graduate.  “I really got creative there,” says Michael.

As a college student at Ohio University, he interned at Willoughby Brewing Company.  In 2003, he earned a degree in human and consumer sciences with a business minor.  Michael aspires to own a fine dining establishment one day.

After a brief stint at Olive Garden, Michael says he chose to work at Yours Truly Restaurants upon meeting a YT general manager and befriending YT partner Darlene Shibley Ziegenhagen.  “I thought it would be a great place to work!”

Michael is a big Michigan Wolverines fan and enjoys rock climbing (you can find him climbing rocks in his spare time at places like Cleveland Rock Gym, Seneca Rocks and Pepsi Rock).  The multi-talented Michael also plays the saxophone.

A Jr. Club Burger with Mushrooms is Michael’s favorite YT item to eat.  Omelets – “I make them nice & fluffy” – are his favorite items to cook.  And to the envy of his co-workers, Michael admits that he can eat and eat and never gain weight.

Krystal Smith

Krystal began her Yours Truly career as a server in 2000.  Soon, she became a coach, training new employees, and eventually entertained the idea of becoming a manager.  She completed the Manager In Training program in March 2005.

Krystal says she aspires to become a general manager or perhaps take on an operations position.  Before Yours Truly, she worked at Bob Evans and Perkins.

She enjoys working at Yours Truly because it’s so family oriented.  “They really worked with me during both of my pregnancies,” says Krystal, mother mother of two.  As a result, Krystal worked until just days before both babies were born!

A Cleveland native, Krystal loves the Cavaliers and is an Atlanta Falcon fan.  She also enjoys painting, or chalking, portraits.

If you’re around Krystal long enough, you’ll hear her favorite expression – “Life’s tough.  Wear a helmet.”  She explains, “I tell people if you fall with your helmet on you can get back up quickly.  You shouldn’t get discouraged.”
