Joe Fracci came to Yours Truly as a cook in 1994. After five years, he joined the management team. “I love the people here – the guests, employees, and owners. I just enjoy the atmosphere,” says Joe. That atmosphere isn’t unusual to Joe, who literally grew up in Mentor restaurants and bars owned by his family members. “I got on the job training from an early age,” he says. Working at YT still gives him time to pursue his hobby – music. “My goal is to continue developing my music and keeping in touch with it,” says Joe, adding, “I used to be in a band, but it’s really just a hobby for me now.” This die-hard Cleveland sports fan, says if he were a car he’d be “a classic `67 Camaro.” Not only does he like fast cars, he likes vacationing in high-energy places, including New York City and Las Vegas. Joe, a Mentor High School grad, has a pet dog named Bean (a terrier mix). After growing up in the restaurant business, it’s no surprise that Joe knows his way around a kitchen. “I like to cook but hate cleaning up the mess,” he confides. Italian foods, such as veal parmesan and chicken marsala, are his specialty. At work, his favorite YT items include Wedding Soup and a Monte Cristo Sandwich. Nicole Crosby didn’t always intend to work at Yours Truly. She was actually headed to a job at Continental Airlines, but when the job fell through, her mother (YT Manager Roberta Sambenedetto) suggested Yours Truly. “I was always kind of shy and thought this job might help me overcome that weakness,” says Nicole. It certainly has! She says, “YT guests love to talk. A simple ‘how are you?’ can turn into an entire conversation!” Nicole progressed quickly from server to coach to Manager in Training, and now, to Manager. After her training in the kitchen, she says she gained a lot of respect for the cooks. “It’s a tough job,” she admits. What’s her favorite item to cook? “Eggs. It took me a long time to learn how to flip eggs, but once I got started…” And what’s her favorite item to eat? “Breakfast wrap and bleu cheese burger!” When Nicole isn’t working, she’s on the dance floor at local clubs. This Garfield Heights High School dance line member says she’d love to teach dance someday. If not a dance instructor, she’d like to become an early childhood education teacher. “I love kids and have a strong belief that kids today aren’t getting enough attention. I’d like to be a part of changing that.” With mom also working at YT, what kind of advice does Nicole receive? “She always tells me I’m going to do well and that I can call her at any time.” That’s good, sound advice!
Mary O'Brien Thanks to years of restaurant experience at restaurants like Nightown, Café Brio and Chesterland Tavern, Mary O’Brien soared quickly through Yours Truly’s management training program. Mary has many diverse hobbies. She’s an award winning quilter, avid gardener (two rural acres filled with ferns, hostas and bee balm attest to her skill) and artist. She attended the Cleveland Art Institute and sold some of her paintings and drawings when she lived in California. At Yours Truly, Mary likes to “turn out” a perfect omelet. “Eggs are my favorite thing to cook,” she says. Cottage cheese and fruit are her favorite items to order off the menu. When she’s not eating at Yours Truly, she loves to eat Japanese food, especially sushi. Why is Mary wearing a smile all the time? She credits her positive outlook on life. “I like to be happy and don’t let things get me down.” Mary shares her home with loyal friend Isobell, a grey kitten she rescued.
