Chief Operating Officer "Tolerance is Power." Dixie began her career with Yours Truly as a manager of the Mayfield Village location. Although she’s been with the company since 1988, she assumed her position in 1990, after demonstrating a unique ability to design and implement cost-control methods and employee training programs. The Shibleys were in the process of opening a fifth location, an expansion which left them with one more restaurant than managing partner. Dixie suggested that they hire someone to oversee the day-to-day operations, and suggested herself for the position. She quickly proved her worth by computerizing the restaurants and overseeing the development of the popular synergy menu, which offered guests low fat options. A native of South Carolina, Dixie’s southern charm belies her no-nonsense approach to management. She is quick with facts and figures, a talent that earned her the responsibility of purchasing, which entails dealing with nearly 100 suppliers. She also keeps managers up to date on their legal responsibilities. The company’s Board of Managers meetings are another part of Dixie’s department. Dixie holds a degree in International Studies from Franklin College in Switzerland, and multiple degrees from the University of Texas. At the Angus Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dixie was promoted into management and realized " the restaurant industry was no longer part of the journey, but a destination.”Dixie enjoys tennis and reading and has written for various publications including Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. She is a past member of the Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is a licensed arbitrator. Dixie and her husband, are the proud parents of two sons. |
